How Print and Digital Work Together

The post How Print and Digital Work Together appeared first on http://calgarysignage.ca/.

I recently wrote a blog article about some misconceptions of the print industry. All of these misconceptions are hot topics in this industry right now, so I want to discuss them all a little more in-depth. Today, I want to talk about the misconception that print and digital media are competing.

One of the most important differences between these two influential industries is how much commitment is given to something published in each medium. When publishing digitally, there is little commitment that accompanies each post. If you post something that no one wants to read, then there is no harm done; it will simply go with the rest of the posts that other people are not interested in. When your publications take print form, however, there is significant commitment. It not only helps to prove your brand’s validity, but it also utilizes physical resources that are not used in digital publications. By figuring out ways to get these two publication mediums to work together, you can maximize the exposure and success that you have.

One way that you can help these two mediums complement each other is to write content that is published digitally in order to gauge what your print readers want you to publish. By forcing these two mediums to work together and in a sense become one, you can keep your digital audience engaged in your print presence and vice versa.
