Digital Signage Being introduced at more Schools

As students get ready to head back to school and summer draws to a close, millions of students will be greeted by new digital signs as their school when they step through the door on the first day. Whether they are in college, high school, or even younger, schools around the nation are turning to digital signs as a way to deliver messages to their students effectively. While schools at all levels are installing a surprising number of these signs, there is a distinctive difference in the installation at the high school and collegiate levels.

Many high schools have run into budget cuts which have inhibited their ability to improve the digital signage features. Colleges, on the other hand, often have money galore to install all kinds of new, high-tech signage. For this reason, while many high schools are sticking to basic digital signs and new emergency alert systems, colleges are installing full-scale video walls. These provide many benefits to the universities, from being able to alert students to new news info to being able to advertise for school sponsors. Universities oftentimes use these video walls as a way to get new students engaged in campus life, from having them upload pictures on Instagram or teaching them about the campus.

While there is certainly still a gap between high school and college even when it comes to digital signage, digital signs are helping to simultaneously close the gap. With the ability to advertise for local universities and update high school students on events that are taking place on campus, high school students now have extra motivation to work hard and eventually attend college themselves.
